My Jail Cell Controls
WASD to the mall, interact to steal a couch, B for codes, and never open a menu in a hallway at night.
My Jail Cell uses ordinary Roblox movement plus a handful of experience-specific menus. This page is the map of those buttons so you are not standing in Cell Depot hitting T, B, and E at random while the sky goes orange. Pair it with getting started and the daytime route.
PC
| Action | Typical bind |
|---|---|
| Move | WASD or arrows |
| Camera | Mouse |
| Jump | Space |
| Interact / pick up furniture | On-screen prompt (often E) |
| Rotate / place | Prompt on the piece (creators also mash G when E is already “pick up”) |
| Codes panel | B — window title CODES!, green Redeem! |
| Roblox menu | Esc |
If B opens backpack or emotes, you are in the wrong experience or another script stole the bind. Leave and join from links. Redeem steps are on how to redeem. Do not open codes at night. The panel is a blindfold.
Drag physics are the skill. Walk into the prompt, hold the piece, walk home, then rotate so the long edge faces the door. That is how a couch becomes a barricade in how to get furniture. If a piece will not sit, back up, drop, pick up again. Do not spin in the mall.
Mobile
Touch thumb stick to move, look pad to camera, jump on the usual Roblox button. Interact is an on-screen prompt. Codes is a HUD icon, not a physical B. If the on-screen keyboard covers Redeem!, close the keyboard first. Instant Pickup (29 Robux) exists because drag on a phone is miserable. It is optional. Play closer to the cell if your thumbs are slow.
Nights on mobile are harder because peeks are fat-fingered. Plant yourself in the corner early. The night checklist does not change because you lack a keyboard.
Console / gamepad
The experience runs on Roblox’s console clients. Use the platform confirm button for prompts and the Roblox overlay to paste codes if you ever need the B-panel. Gamepad drag is clumsy. Prefer fewer, higher-coziness pieces.
HUD temptations that kill people
- Shop / passes while standing in a doorway. Buy Never Hungry in the cell in the morning (game pass tiers).
- Paint tools at orange light. Paint is a daylight flex.
- Pet store UI during cooldown. Leave.
- Save slot menu as the hunt starts. Load the bunker before dusk (lights).
- Executors. Not a control. See scripts.
Quality-of-life passes that change binds in spirit
Infinite Run makes WASD louder at night — walk anyway. X-Ray lets you “look” without peeking the mesh. Dolly lets you interact with more pieces per trip. None of them add a new key. They change how aggressive you should be with the keys you already have.
If a patch remaps B, this page will say so. Until then: E to steal, walk home, rotate, B only at dawn, Esc if you are lost, never a menu in the mall after dark. That is the control scheme that matches the loop.
Learn these binds once so survive the night is about patrols, not about finding the drop button.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common My Jail Cell questions.
How do you pick up furniture in My Jail Cell?
Walk to the piece and use the on-screen interact (often E on PC). Drag it to your cell, then rotate it before you consider it placed.
What does the B key do?
It opens the CODES! redeem panel. Use it in the morning. It is not a backpack bind in the official experience.
How do I redeem codes on mobile?
Tap the codes HUD button, paste the string, close the keyboard if it covers Redeem!, then tap the green button.
Why can’t I place a couch?
You may still be in drag mode, clipping a wall, or using the wrong rotate control. Drop, step back, pick up, and rotate in open floor.
